Uganda Peaberry Single Origin Espresso from the Gumutindo Co-op

Mt. Elgon, which borders Kenya, is home to the beautiful Bugisu people who created this Cooperative in 1998.  It now boasts 50% female membership which is an incredible social accomplishment for Uganda.  The producers live and farm in ancient forests teaming with old-growth hard woods, waterfalls, and rich, fertile soils: the perfect ingredients for this 100% Bourbon variety.

The coffee has creamy body, balanced acidity, and rich sweetness.  These inherent traits fueled us to develop a Single Origin 'Spro (S.O.S.) roast profile which, when prepared properly, exhibits the coffee's true colors with additional highlights of dried apricot and carmelised orange peel.

Designed to be poured ristretto, yielding less espresso than you may be accustomed to in your demitasse, this coffees finish continues to reward the taster, roaster, and farmer.

You can find this S.O.S. at the Cup Boulder where they are planning to bring it to the Rocky Mountain Barista Competition coming up on Valentine's weekend.
