We are so excited to offer Miguel Padilla Chinguel's award-winning coffee this year!
This washed-process blend of Bourbon and Caturra varieties, grown at nearly 1,900 meters in the highlands of Cajamarca, Peru, won second place in Peru's Golden Cup Competition, hosted by the Coordinadora Nacional de Comercio Justo to honor exceptional producers from Fair Trade cooperatives across the country. With tasting notes of tart cherry, limeade, and caramel apple, this microlot is vibrant yet comforting, offering a lively acidity and smooth finish that make it an everyday standout.
Miguel Padilla Chinguel is a longtime member of the Sol y Café Cooperative, a collective known for its strong community values and commitment to quality and sustainability. After winning second place in the Golden Cup in 2024, Miguel went on to be named one of the 79 first-time winners in the 25th-anniversary Cup of Excellence in 2025—further recognition of his incredible work and dedication to his craft.
This coffee reminds us that exceptional coffee doesn’t have to mean extravagant or experimental—it can come through the clarity and balance of a beautifully executed washed process, inviting both casual drinkers and devoted home brewers to enjoy something elegant, reliable, and quietly extraordinary.
