Our humble beginnings
Conscious Coffees began with co-creators Mel and Mark in the early 1990s, who first got their start as baristas in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. By 1996, they had a roasting machine of their own, a handful of wholesale accounts, and some new ideas on craft roasting. Since those early days of trial and error techniques, they refined the roasting process that is now equal parts art and science.

Organic farming is extremely important to the health of the land. By only using natural materials for compost and introducing no chemicals, farmers ensure the long term sustainability of their farm.
Beyond Fair Trade
Beyond fair trade means we not only pay better than fair dictates, but because we buy directly from farmer cooperatives, the farmer keeps a larger share. This ensures the farmers long term livelihood.
